Reenacting a story
All are welcome to reenact the stories
in the Archives. We hope you will decide to participate!
Part
1. How to reenact a story
Each story in our Archives has one or more accompanying
Dramatizations; participating volunteer Preservation Assistants can print them
out, and reenact the encounter of their choice at home, or in public. You can
choose a fitting setting for the reenactment (for example, a park for a story
set in a park), or you can perform the Dramatization wherever you happen to be
when you feel inspired.
The Initiative's Dramatizations require different numbers of people; some involve up to four people, while others can be performed by one Preservation Assistant and a randomly-chosen person on the street. This information is noted at the top of each Dramatization.
To locate a suitable Dramatization, please visit the Story Archives.
Part 2. Questions for
the reenactor
Reenacting the stories is another way that the Initiative studies their
meaning. Once you've reenacted a Dramatization, please email us
(at mews.pari@gmail.com), and we'll ask you a few follow-up questions.
We also hope you'll consider photographing your performance, and sending us the pictures.
All of this information will then be added to the database, along with your name--unless you would prefer to remain anonymous. If you have a website, we can add a link to your URL as well.
Thanks!
