Between February 2009 and December 2010, we spoke to hundreds of people about the future. A few dozen of these people were nice enough to make predictions about the future.

Some of these predictions took the form of elaborate short stories, or intricate drawings or maps.

I prophecy that Whitey Bulger will return to lead a townie uprising which will culminate in the burning of Tufts and the exodus of all college students, hipsters, artists and young professionals and that the land will be purged of coffee shops, boutiques and lofts! A great wall will be erected along the Cambridge line! art festivals will be banned!

bike lanes repaved! smoking laws revoked! Bulger will reign from high atop Prospect Hill. Menino will look up and cower...
